Today marks the 2015 Games Season training kickoff. I'm excited to work with a new coach with some new programming and a great group of athletes to push me further than I could on my own.
First 10 sessions are testing.
I'm going to start each day with general mood/health notes and then breakdown the training.
Mood/Health:
Today I felt pretty good. Didn't sleep well due to a teething baby, but hopefully that era will only last a little longer. The 5:20AM alarm was still as inviting as ever and after some caffeine and a Larabar, I was on my way in good spirits. No significant injuries, just a little lower back stiffness from lugging the kiddos around this weekend.
Training:
10 min to find 1RM Press
10 min to find 1RM Push Press
10 min to find 1RM Jerk
Rest 20 min
8 min to find 1RM Power Clean
Rest 2 min
8 min AMRAP: 90% of 1RM Power Clean
Results and Notes:
I warmed up well in a class setting and moved on to some press warm-ups as I started the clock.
Press - 185# New PR
Push Press - 245# PR by 5#
Jerk - 305# PR by 10# (attempted 315# and ALMOST stuck it)
Rested only 12 min due to schedule today
Max PC - 285# Tied PR (failed 275 twice, went back down to 255# for 2 singles and then moved on)
AMRAP - 34 Reps @ 250# (Miss calculated this one - for some reason based off of 275)
Work felt good. Ready for tomorrow.
